Dear Ms. Kugler,
They went back underground and had to go back through the city. There was even more fog this time, but they both came prepared with gas masks and firecrackers, just in case there were Styx. They were making their way quickly and quietly through when they heard barking. They ran like heck and came out of the fog. When they did, they saw several Styx with hunting dogs only a few yards away.
I wonder if they will make it away from the Styx and how. If they do, it would be a miracle.
Gruff- rough
Ominous- full of doom
Inevitable- Not avoidable
